Ques 11 : What are the Variables in  SSIS?


Ans : Variables in SSIS consume the values from parameter. These values can be derived based on expression.


There are two types of Variables :

  • System Variable
  • User Variable



Ques 12 : Explain the Data Conversion Transformation in  SSIS?


Ans : Data Conversion transformation is common transformation and It is used to change data type of column. It works as SQL- Function Convert .

 



Ques 13 : Explain the Lookup  Transformation in  SSIS?


Ans : Lookup transformation is SSIS transformation and It is used to compare data in transformation.


There are two ways to apply this transformation.


1) IF Matched : Lets suppose we have to perform two actions. If data is matched in both operation , data should be update in table.

2) IF Not Matched : Lets suppose we have to perform two actions. If data is not matched in both operation , data should be insert into table.

 



Ques 14 : Explain the Derived Column Transformation in  SSIS?


Ans : Derived Column Transformation is common transformation and It is used to create new columns or replace existing columns with values calculated from expressions.




Ques 15 : What are the Transactions in  SSIS?


Ans :  Transaction in SSIS is used to maintain the data integrity.

 

There are three types of transaction :

 

  • Support : if one operation failed , other operation will be failed.
  • Not Support : if one operation failed, but other operation will be success .
  • Required : Rollback complete operation

 



Ques 16 : If you require to get the Count for the number of records loaded from Source to Destination, which transformation will you use?

 

Ans : Use Row Count Transformation

 

For Example :

  • Get the data from sql server by using ole db source
  • Drag and drop row count transformation
  • Create variable for row count
  • Call that Variable into other script task to count the records.

 



Ques 17 : If you need to create a sequence number for input records, which transformation will you use?
    

Ans :

Steps :

  • Get data from SQL server by using ole db source
  • Drag and Drop Script Component
  • Go to I/p and o/p column and add o/p column as Row number
  • In Edit script  code



 In old db destination , add new table with row number column for mapping.

 



Ques 18 : Which transformation can be used to change column data to Lower Case or Upper Case?

 

Ans :  By using Derived column Transformation, You can add  Upper(Expression) or You can use Character Map Transformation.

 



Ques 19 : How would you filter Null value rows in Data Flow Task?

 

Ans :  By using Derived column Transformation, You can add ISNULL(Expression).





Ques 20: Which Transformation can perform operations such as Sum, Count and Group By?

 

Ans :  By using Aggregate Transformation, You can perform SUM, Count, Group By operation.
